Braircrest
Briarcrest
- a Tudor-type mansion on an 11-acre parcel of land at the corner of
Islington Avenue and Dixon Road near Malton, originally purchased by
Walter Deisher in 1946 for $40,000 Briarcrest was sold to A.V. Roe for
$80,000 when Deisher left the company in 1952. Many key players stayed
at Braircrest, company officials paid $25 a day for use of the estate
The latest news is that most of the land has been sold and the building
is now used as office space - just one more part of the Avro Story gone
to time.
